I thought you should know of this account before we go further. This is a very clear account from Naomi Wolf, from her book Facing the Beast; Courage, Faith, and Resistance in a New Dark Age. I started reading this book while I was waiting for my wife at her doctor’s appointment and “quick” thrift store stop. It is excellent and I look forward to sharing with you her words as we move forward. Please take a moment to recommend this post to others because word of mouth and personal recommendation is the way we grow.
Now Naomi and I would generally express things differently and probably would argue a great deal over the details. However, she is a classic liberal and classic liberals value freedom, truth, and detest tyranny. I am a small “r” republican; a classic liberal with many conservative values and a republican in the same way Thomas Jefferson was a republican. The Republican Party would not exist for another 100 years almost but the values on which this republic was founded are older than Republicans. Neither party totally represents me today and they are disappointing. Today, there are still people starting to see cracks int eh narrative, but those trying to destroy our freedoms are still able to field crowds of people into the streets based upon false narratives. Try not to judge too quickly, most people do not have intelligence or investigative training to even begin sorting through the lies and twisted facts people are exposed to. Every day, others, like Naomi and the many, many, who share their Walk Away stories on YouTube are waking up and realizing how deeply they have been lied to. Until then we need to support each other and encourage one another.
The day Israel first bombed Iran I prepared a News Brief of everything my Freedom Troopers needed to know that the media wouldn’t tell them and that school didn’t prepare them for. Having gone to High School with Moses and Pharoah when Caesar was a sophomore I have a lot of “lived experience” in this matter that most people just don’t have. When the Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the Shah of Iran and took our ambassadors hostage I was watching on TV in the day room at the Fort Leonard Wood Drill Sergeant Academy. I remember one of my Sergeant friends saying, “Hey all, I think Dan’s ready to go in with the first wave if they give the order.” “Damn straight!” I replied. I was much younger then and trusted my country implicitly in all things, that was before I joined Military Intelligence.

Back to Naomi Wolf, tyranny makes strange bedfellows but here we are and, for once, I find myself agreeing with almost everything she is saying. What follows are direct passages from the introduction of her book that I think we should all read. I encourage you to buy her book and read the entire thing. It is well worth it. The following passages are used under fair use for educational purposes about the situation we are in so you can hear another’s words than just mine all the time. Any typos or errors probably come from my own inexpert stenography as I copied this manually. I will let here tell you in her words of her own experience:
“This book is a memoir of how our “Before” world…became, through a slow boil and through various shocks to its core institutions – this “After” world of tyranny, sadism, and forced inequality.
“I have been an activist defending the Constitution for the past three plus decades. As a result of my work identifying and fighting earlier threats to democracy and free speech, I was able to see, early in 2020, the inevitable implications for our democracy and for our country as a whole, in the rollout of pandemic and lockdown and then mandate narratives and practices.
“Given my previous work, it was easy to guess what all these policies would quickly do to us. It was easy for me to foretell that the immediate deployment of mass censorship of critics of these policies; the ramped-up State surveillance; the forced closure of schools, places of worship, and businesses; the unconstitutional declarations that we must not assemble, beyond a small number of people, even in our private homes; the violation of the Nuremberg Laws and the most basic international human rights laws that guarantee bodily integrity and informed medical consent, represented mRNA vaccine mandates – would utterly transform our nation, and the nations of the West, into post-democratic societies; into societies that may look pretty much the same on the surface (as I argued in my 2008 Bestseller The End of America that post-democratic societies would) but that the heart of their freedom would be annihilated, leaving intact pretty little vassal states, with no real autonomy left for their citizens, where the nations of the free West had so recently prevailed.”

The only part I disagree with in her narrative, and it could be if we talked about it we would find we don’t actually disagree at all, is that I would say that the decay began much earlier than she does. In fact, in the early 1990s I stood my sons in front of me and said, “You may not fully understand what I am going to tell you, but I want you to remember this. It may not happen in my lifetime, but it will definitely happen in yours, that if we don’t stop the rising government control and interference in our live’s we will have no choice but to submit to slavery (like the old Soviet Union,) or fight a new revolution for our freedom.” The reason I left the intelligence community and became a pastor was because I came to believe that the greatest enemies of the Constitution in 1987 were not in the Kremlin but in the WDC Beltway and on Wall Street. That’s why I paid attention when Tim Pool started reporting so long ago at “Occupy Wall Street.” I thought the Left at the time was a bit off the mark but at least they SAW the problem. “In my 2008 book about dying democracies, I had described the threats to liberty that prevailed at that time, in the George Bush Jr. era, as deriving primarily from the Right. But even then I was not deceived by partisanship assumptions about fascism, as I learned from my study of earlier totalitarian and fascist regimes and leaders that authoritarians of the Left and the Right are exactly the same; they take the same ten steps to ensure the death of democracies, and do the same things to propagandize their subject people, to silence dissent, to arrest opposition leaders, to create surveillance societies and prisons outside the rule of law, and eventually to bring about emergency law, which is Step Ten. “Since 2020, in America at least, these threats to our country havae been deployed largely from the Left. Though I come “from the left,” I had no problem recognizing this.
“The threats to liberty worldwide had no partisan quality as they were “metapartisan,” [-what I call the Hydra freedom troopers to help us remember that it is not “one head” or “one enemy” and that our enemies are even, often, enemies of each other-] being handed down from the WEF (World Economic Forum), the WHO (World Health Organization), the CCP (Chinese Communist Party), nongovernmental foundations such as Bill Gates’s, and allied Big Tech Leaders, as I described in my 2022 book The Bodies of Others. You could see the exact same pandemic, lockdown, and mandate policies rolled out in conservative-led UK, in liberal-led Canada, in liberal-led France, and so on.”

“Other people also spoke up, as the dark shadow of fascism descended on our nation under the cloak of a ‘public health emergency.’
“Some others who had been identified with the US Left were also speaking out against the public health response to the pandemic. They also spoke out about the censorship regime that so visibly descended on us. Glenn Greenwald, Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying, Joe Rogan, Robert Kennedy Jr., and others, though identified with the Left, held the principles of the Constitution and basic human rights above partisanship.
Other heroes, too, arose in this dark time, in ways that also transcended partisanship. Many of these were heroes of real medicine, real science, real public health. Some were doctors: Dr. Peter McCullough, Dr. Pierre Kory, Dr. Paul Alexander, Dr. Henry Ealy, Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, and many others. Some were scientists and economists; the signatories and the convener of the Great Barrington Declaration, for instance: Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Dr. Martin Kulldorff, Dr. Sunetra Gupta, and economist Jeffrey Tucker. These all refused to tolerate, or even accept as settled “science,” policies that they knew would destroy schooling, damage the development of children, and lead to mass starvation…

“But not nearly enough.
“There were–are–many millions more quislings and colluders, as I learned upon this painful journey.
“My own life changed utterly, because of my taking actions that would have suited the ‘Before’ world, but that I took in an ‘After’ reality.”

Her actions and questions would have been fine if we still lived in a free society, but autocrats in both the Republican and Democratic parties, and in business and academia have been actively dismantling our freedoms for decades now. We are now living in this “After” world she speaks of. Let me be clear. We do NOT live in a free country, and international registries that measure this acknowledge the US as only “partly free” today. Under Trump, if he moves decisively, we can possibly regain our freedom but we no longer have it as a “given” as most Americans still wrongfully seem to assume…or perhaps they no longer care. But I care, Naomi Wolf cares, and so do so many of those she listed and who are in the Trump Administration but do not be deceived. There are also oligarchic totalitarians hiding among the administration that are looking for their opportunity to turn up “the heat” and to pervert Trump’s efforts to Make America Great Again and turn them into the very thing we are struggling against. The insidious nature of what is flippantly called 5th Generation Warfare does not begin to encompass the cancerous influence of the subversives and seditions among us. This is an important reminder for all of us to never let us be blinded or think that “our side,” however we perceive that to be comprised, is “always” right. There are totalitarian forces at work in both parties and in none, in partisan circles and within the faceless bureaucracy. The Hydra can raise its deadly head from anywhere to devour liberty. Lately, I have very clearly allied with the Republican party because today’s Democratic party has been taken completely over by the enemy and the few voices that were left in the Democratic party that I admired and considered competent are now part of the Trump Administration. Trump himself had been a Democrat at one time, but it has now become something very dark and actually evil in my estimation. Naomi describes all of her achievements for the next couple pages. How she published 8 best-selling books, consulted on President Bill Clinton’s and Al Gore’s campaigns for president. She mentions how she had been interviewed on nearly every media network, was a proud feminist and single mother and even worked for the Goerge Soros funded Project Syndicate and even across the pond to the Times of London. We shouldn’t judge too harshly. I only became awake because the specific TS/SCI clearances that I had allowed me to see things that most people, even in the intelligence community, weren’t necessarily privy to. Additionally, my study of the founders, their papers, their writings, and the philosophies that had led them to declaring our Independence made me keen to what others might have overlooked. But I have become accustomed to being twenty to thirty years ahead of the majority and so I am accustomed to those who have not yet understood to calling me “nuts” or “paranoid.” But it all works out, eventually. I just hope that enough patriots wake up in time to stop the process before we are locked completely into a tyranny we cannot escape from for generations. I don’t say this to brag. It’s not something I enjoy. It’s like the curse of Cassandra spending more than 40 years issuing warnings that people are not ready to hear. So, I was not surprised reading how she went for decades without noticing how there were elements in the groups she was working with that were already undermining the very democracy she thought she was working for. She still does not seem to realize how deep and far back the roots of this problem go. But as long as she sees it now, we welcome her to the fight. Even if she still thinks Trump is part of the problem. It is not impossible that our enemies may try to use his good intentions against us. However, and this is the warning we need to keep near to our hearts and minds, we have a tendency to give “friends” the benefit of the doubt and judge the “others” more harshly. Had she read the book by Diana West, American Betrayal, the Secret Assault on our Nation’s Character she would have seen clearly the elements that have been trying to destroy this nation since the Russian Bolshevik Revolution and the actions of the International Communist Party go back before then. “During the pandemic and lockdown, then, I did what I have always done; I investigate the myths and narratives that I saw forming online and in news outlets and asked public questions about them. For me, this was nothing new. By doing so, I realized that many of the diktats of the period were untrue. I saw quickly that the COVID-19 maps on the front pages of the New York Times, and the Johns Hopkins University COVID-19 map cited by almost every outlet in the US, were all produced without giving the reader any access to the underlying datasets, for example. As a tech CEO whose website specializes in presenting the same kind of government data (application programming interfaces – APIs), I saw immediately that there was no way to trust these COVID-19 maps.
“I knew from having written The End of America that the fact that we were, in July of 2020, already at Step Ten of the Ten Steps to Fascism – emergency law- represented a very dangerous situation. I knew…through many of the last 400 years’…that waves of infectious diseases, from yellow fever to typhus to cholera, had passed over both Britain and America, but that these diseases had never been treated as we were treating this purportedly serious infectious disease, COVID-19. Never had multiple generations been advised to crowd together into closed indoor spaces, only to be denied light, air, and exercise, during an epidemic. Indeed, from Florence Nightingale in the Crimean War, to the reformers of the Progressive Era, health pioneers knew well that doing this was, in fact, deadly…
“As I have always done with official narratives, I questioned these “truths.”
“But the world had changed. My questioning, instead of continuing to solidify my cultural status, called forth waves of bots and trolls, threats and harassment. My right-on, progressive friends let me know that they did not approve of the issues that I was raising.
“Then came late 2020 and early 2021: the launch of the presentation of the mRNA injections as “the only way out” of the lockdowns. I recall reading Moderna’s website, which boasted that the company’s mRNA technology, and the spike protein in the vaccine formation, would enter every cell in the human body.
“I am an English major–not a medical doctor or a scientist. But I remember thinking: Every cell? In your ovaries? Your heart? Your liver? Your digestive tract? Your eyelashes? I have a neurological condition–spina bifida occulta; and I knew from experience how delicate was the nearly miraculous activity of healthy nerve conduction and how easily it could go awry…and I decided to pass. [Similarly my VA Doctor, coincidentally named Dr. Wolf, advised me to not get the vaccine because of possible heart complications and since I had already had the disease itself and natural immunity is better protection than any vaccine ever is. The recommendation of my Dr. though was not sufficient for my wife’s family or a variety of “official” organizations and groups that refused to allow me in their presence. I remember her brother dropping some food off to us when COVID had caused my liver to fail and I was in bad shape. Although I didn’t have COVID anymore the liver issues remained, and they dropped off food and stood more than a car length away to tell us they hoped we got better.]
“This personal, rational decision about my own body –one related to my own private health issues–abruptly thrust me into a new social and even legal category; one that was created in the start of 2021: that of second-class citizen; “anti-vaxxer,” (note the trashy double xs); dissident; wierdo; “conspiracy theorist”; and, though I remained a classical liberal, “Trumper.”
“The moment I began asking basic questions on my Twitter feed specifically about the novel mRNA injections–the kinds of questions I had asked for three decades about silicone breast implants, about high estrogen levels in birth control pills, about dangerous IUDs; about vaginal mesh, or industrial hospital birthing practices and high for-profit C-section rates–my bio changed everywhere, online, and all at once. Instead of being described as a leading voice of Third Wave Feminism, with a string of honors, degrees, and awards after my name, I was now identified from the first sentence, on Wikipedia and everywhere else, as a “conspiracy theorist.” Not being aware yet that AI had already been deployed journalistically, I did not even understand how that overnight change in my reputation had been accomplished.
“I began to be left out of the social events that had resumed, in New York, after almost everyone had rushed to get vaccinated; I was cut off the guest lists that had once sought to have me. Hostesses told me that I was no longer welcome, as the hosts were “being careful.” [others] …remained silent as I was portrayed as a lunatic and a QAnon afficionado. Others, who knew me and knew better, even joined in the melee.”

If your still with us Freedom Troopers congratulations on your perseverance. The deployment of AI to warp her reputation and spread lies shows what we are up against. They can twist truth and facts faster than we can set them straight and we will always be behind if we just try to do that. Our enemies will use any excuse to mobilize their tools against us and our freedoms whether it is COVID-19, Gaza and Israel, Open Borders, ICE, or whatever the issue of the day is the issue itself is irrelevant. They will use anything they can stir up the “useful idiots” to protest and fight against and work to break down the very fabric and foundations of our society. As SabersEdge moves forward, we need to concentrate on reforging the foundations of our civilization and sharing the resources and words of the philosophers, motivators, theologians, statesmen, and other leaders who helped build the foundations of the West. It is only in this way can the fabric of our society be strong enough to resist the endless game of “whack-a-mole” from issue to issue that they are trying to use to exhaust our strength. This does not mean that those fights are irrelevant. They are very relevant. But if all of us are distracted responding to the “issues” that don’t matter but that our enemies are using to rip apart the fabric of our society then no one will ever have time to get to repairing the foundations upon which we must rebuild the future.
