Learn From the Failure of Others or Fail Yourself

Corruption and Lies Education History Liberty/Politics Personal Development Spirituality What Your Father Should Have Taught You

“If you want to be successful you need to learn wisdom,” my father said. “By learning the Psalms and Proverbs and understanding the lessons of history you can avoid making the same dumb mistakes people have made over and over again for generation upon generation. Learn from those who went before, avoid all the same old mistakes, and then you only have to deal with new ones that you make.”

Welcome Freedom Troopers and faithful readers. I want to shout out to SFC Eddie T who inspired this series of What You Father Should Have Taught You. We hope you get transferred from the frozen wastes and are able to get a posting closer to friends. But for all of us, wherever we are, we are called to stand for Liberty and Justice.

My father encouraged me to learn wisdom from one of the oldest books we have available, the Bible. As Jordan Peterson said this book is more enduring than stone; more enduring than kingdoms and empires, it has lasted for thousands of years. It has lasted because there is truth in it. I remember reading the story of Stephen. He was brought before a Jewish court and many advised that he be killed for preaching about Jesus. The great teacher Gemaliel stood up and said they should do nothing. If these followers of Jesus are spreading stories they will come to nothing and be forgotten. He even mentioned a religious leader who had followers and made a big splash but today we have no clue who he was referencing because he has been forgotten to history. However, if they tell the truth you won’t be able to stop them and, if you try, you may find yourself opposing God.” Well, apparently these teachings didn’t die out…some of them have their roots going back thousands of years before Christ. They have stood the test of time while empires and kingdoms and all manner of fads and ideas have perished and been forgotten. Truth endures. That, in fact, is what the first Psalm is all about; it is the first psalm that I first memorized in grade school. It says:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in its season, and its leaf shall not whither. In all that he doeth he prospers.

But the wicked are not so. They are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

So, this begins by advising people to not listen to those with evil intent, proven liars, nor with those who scoff or mock others. Instead, it says, a righteous man learns wisdom and meditates on the wisdom of the ancients day and night. Learning from the wise who have gone before, even as the scoffers mock the laws of God and Nature. Today, we have wandered from the path of wisdom and liberty that was clearly laid out for us by our forebears and we have paid the price. The psalm goes on to say that the one who learns wisdom becomes like a fruit tree planted by a stream that grows tall and green and yields fine fruit regularly. While the wicked and selfish are like chaff or dead grass that is blown away or used for kindling. They may be green for awhile but they will die out and fail in the end. Because the righteous understand Wisdom and the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God they will prosper in the end while the lies and machinations of the wicked will eventually be found out.

OK, back to the Psalm. The 1st Psalm, was the psalm that told me why I should learn from the Wisdom of those who have gone before. That the time honored wisdom of the ancients would benefit me more than the words of scoffers or those who followed fads or new ideas that had no basis in reality. These ideas we are seeing perpetuated in society today. Ideas that deny biology, science, and that even want to rewrite history to make it a political tool of the elite to undermine the United States and Western Culture. You see, it is Western Culture and Science that most stands in the way of the oligarchs, banksters, and robber barons who are trying to undermine our society and reduce us all to wage slaves. In their arrogance they even blame Western Culture for the evils that they have perpetuated…and some people believe them. But the wise understand the lessons of those who went before us and built the society that we benefit from today. They are grounded in the fruitful lessons of the past, and ready to bloom and bear fruit in a new future that leaves behind the foolilshness of today’s fads and propaganda. None of that, makes the robber barons or banksters happy because those who follow the words of the wise are not following the propaganda of media and our government. They think for themselves and find their own way into the future while others go blindly down the paths they are told. We are called to be the wise, to be like trees that bear their fruit in season and grow strong and proud. Unshaken by the winds of storms and un-poisoned by the lies of propaganda, one of those lies is that those in previous generations blindly followed what they were told but today we are free thinkers and coming up with a new way. Yet without values we are afraid to stand for what is right. Without the knowledge we are driven like chaff caught in a strong wind. We are blown here and there and do not stand and grow strong in our values and beliefs. Today, people stand for nothing. Ironically, instead of thinking for ourselves and moving into a brave new future we tolerate control that our government exerts over us today to a degree that never would have been tolerated by earlier generations.

So, let each cavalier who loves honor and right, follow the torch of Liberty tonight. Keep your mind on the lessons of the past so you are grounded in the fertile soil of truth and can build a fruitful future. Freedom Troopers and Lovers of Liberty, mount up, seek truth, get wisdom, stand for justice and speak the truth, and in the words of Theoden, King of Rohan “Ride and fear no darkness!”
