Toxic Chemicals In East Palestine OH

Community Corruption and Lies Earth Environment Liberty/Politics

More is coming out about the pollution and toxic residue in East Palestine, Ohio. Yet, in the midst of that, I am not hearing anything about the effects of the toxic gases that spread east and southward from East Palestine. Previously, we were hearing about the death of birds, livestock, dogs, and people getting sick, downwind of the burn-off. Forgive me if I don’t believe that the failure of our media to cover the situation means that everything is fine. But I don’t. [See: https://sabersedge.online/poison-gas-in-pa-and-wv-from-oh ]

As more comes out about this situation I cannot help but wonder, “What were they thinking?”

I have never heard of them draining toxic chemicals into a dirt ditch. First of all, any idiot knows that if you do that, it will leach into the soil; second, it is against environmental regulations. Or at least it used to be. Now I come from a generation that was active in behalf of the environment. Back when the Green movement was real and it hadn’t been taken over by the “Green Energy” conglomerate. This was back when places like Love Canal, and Erin Brockovich were in the news [look them up if you don’t know those references]. I remember seeing the Rhine River burning live on TV because of the pollution in Europe. The River was so polluted that it caught on fire more than 3 times in 3 years! The Environmental movement when I was in college spearheaded cleaning that up. We knew the best way to equalize your carbon footprint was not to pay some fat cat more money but to plant a tree for everyone in your house and one for the house too. Trees love carbon! They eat it and convert it to oxygen. In our turn we are rather fond of breathing so the solution worked all around. Somewhere, the EPA and all the other agencies created to “save the planet” were one by one dominated by industries and rendered useless. That is where we are now, apparently. The government of Ohio wanted to convince people that everything was fine so they showed up and publicly drank the water they are telling people is safe. But, surely one glass of water could be tolerated since most of the chemicals are long-term health risks. But these families have kids and families play along the creeks and in the parks – they live there every day. And why does none of the news note that major population centers near East Palestine were involved? But they won’t. And we are supposed to trust these two-faced bastards? I don’t and I feel sorry for anyone there who does. They can show us the water results all they want. I want to see them do a test of the water after someone has disturbed the chemicals on the bottom! Last time we looked at Phosgene, the myriad of cancer-causing chemicals lost here is a nightmare.

We have heard officials say they didn’t know what was on the trains. That is illegal and if true they should be prosecuted. There are 9 international symbols for hazardous chemicals and every transport of hazardous chemicals is required to be recorded, registered, and tracked. One hazardous waste specialist said he could read what was in them from the information posted on the cars in the news clip! But lying seems to be our government’s “go-to” strategy these days. It apparently works since the Department of Education has done a poor job educating Americans since it was founded. In the attached video, residents clearly show the chemicals still in their water. Other videos I have seen have residents of East Palestine who have been perpetually ill since returning to their homes. Buttigieg, who was always worthless, continues to prove his quality (or lack thereof,) in this situation. Meanwhile, Biden, who cannot take the time to help anyone in East Palestine or downwind of them can find the time to take 500 million dollars to Ukraine for a war that is not in American best interests. At every turn we find the American government turning its back on its people and supporting the military-industrial complex at our expense. People need to realize that every dollar the government wastes is coming from YOU.

I happened to be reading Thomas Paine’s Common Sense today. It is not unusual for me to monitor news vids while I am reading. So, when this video from Epoch Times came up I happened to be reading Mr. Paine and it made me wonder what he would say. I have included the passage here. He was talking about the situation in Boston where the British had spawned a rebellion when they tried to seize the guns and a cannon that were said to be in the hands of the Massachusetts Militia. Now, the city was occupied and under siege by those same militias. Now, shooting at Americans is not the same as a government that allows Americans, their children, and their grandchildren to be poisoned and exposed to cancerous chemicals. Taxing tea is not the same as lying to people about whether the water is toxic or safe, nor is it the same to kick in someone’s door and search their house as it is to poison their house so they cannot live there. Somehow I think todays grievances by the people in East Palestine are worse than they were in Boston in 1775.

Somehow, I think that Thomas Paine and our founders would find more to be aggrieved by our current corrupt government in Washington D.C. than they did with King George. If you don’t believe me review the news and allegations of the past few years and compare it with the Declaration of Independence and its list of grievances. Let’s look at the passage I was reading and substitute the situation in the news today:

“IT is the good fortune of many to live distant from the scene of sorrow; the evil is not sufficiently brought to their doors to make them feel the precariousness with which all American property is possessed. But let our imaginations transport us for a few moments to [East Palestine] Boston, that seat of wretchedness will teach us wisdom, and instruct us forever to renounce a power in whom we can have no trust. The inhabitants of that unfortunate city, who but a few months ago were in ease and affluence, have now, no other alternative than to stay and starve, or turn out to beg…In their present condition they are prisoners without the hope of redemption…

“Men of passive tempers look somewhat lightly over the offenses…and, still hoping for the best, are apt to call out, “Come, come, we shall be friends again, for all this.” But examine the passions and feelings of mankind, bring the doctrine of reconciliation to the touchstone of nature, and then tell me, whether

“Can you hereafter love, honor, and faithfully serve the power that hath carried fire and sword [gas and poison] into your land? If you cannot do all these than are you only deceiving yourselves, and by your delay bringing ruin upon posterity. Your future connection with [government] Britain, whom you can neither love nor honor, will be forced and unnatural, and being formed only on the plan of present convenience, will in a little time fall into a relapse more wretched than the first. But if you say, you can still pass the violations over, then I ask, Hath your house been burnt? Hath your property been destroyed before your face? Are your wife and children destitute of a bed to lie on, or bread to live on? If you have not, then are you not a judge of those who has. But if you have, and still can shake hands with the murderers, then you are unworthy the name husband, father, friend, or lover, and whatever may be your rank or title in life, you have the heart of a coward, and the spirit of a sycophant…I mean not to exhibit horror for the purpose of provoking revenge, but to awaken us from fatal and unmanly slumbers, that we may pursue determinedly some fixed object. It is not in the power of Britain or Europe to conquer America, if she do not conquer herself by delay and timidity.”

I have long reflected that the events which brought us to a revolution in 1775 and independence in 1776 were pale and slight compared to the abuses which Americans currently suffer from an unjust and corrupt government in Washington. But as Jefferson wrote in 1776 – people tend to continue to suffer while offenses are sufferable rather than righting their wrongs. I have always believed that America was meant to be a city on the hill showing the way to the rest of the world. We may have been imperfect but our ideals were true and we slowly grew into them. But these are different times. In 1776 they understood what freedom truly was. They also knew what a woman was, and what a man was.
